Maxim Vandekerckhove (°1993) started his career as Professional Development Officer for the Master students Interdisciplinary EU Studies at the College of Europe in Natolin, Poland. After that, he shortly worked at the Flemish Government on international biodiversity matters before joining the Belgian Ministry of Social Security, where he was a policy officer at the Strategy and Governance team, working on social rights and inclusion. Since 2024 he followed his passion for SciTech governance and joined the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (Belspo) as Attaché Organization Management and Risk Officer. He his also part of the task force on the Belgian Science and Technology taskforce. Next to that, Maxim has been appointed as coordinator of the expert group on Technology, Science and Innovation Diplomacy at the Brussels Diplomatic Academy (BDA), which is part of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Maxim is an ASEF Alumnus, Navigator and expert on STI diplomacy within the organization. He has participated in and facilitated many Erasmus+ projects in the EU, its neighbourhood and even in other continents.
