International Trade & Logistics

I am Aysu Ahmad, a business management student at Odisee University. Global problems and solving strategies have always caught my attention. Therefore, I owe it to myself to join the Conference on the Future of Europe- YEAs Edition with Young European Ambassadors. I was the youngest participant in the conference. Additionally, I am a Young European Ambassador and Global Peace Ambassador, and I regularly attend and host many conferences and forums of the United Nations and the European Union, such as the European Year of Youth Conference and many more.

Furthermore, I had a valuable time at the European School Summer Camp twenty twenty-one Virtual Exchange by EaP with one hundred twenty-five of my peers from eight different EaP countries. We discussed and gained new knowledge about the importance of youth participation in solving global problems, the development of youth policy, and the contribution that young people can make as active citizens. Moreover, I have recently participated in the Sustainable Leaders Summit in the EU Parliament to showcase my passion for sustainability and climate change action.

In order to be the voice of youth in climate action, I participated in the Stockholm+50 International Meeting and Youth Assembly as a Youth Delegate of AEGEE-Europe. I was also in the working group for a global youth policy paper as a youth task force member. I especially contributed to the sustainable finance and economy part of the policy paper. In addition, as one of the mentees of the Youth Empowerment and Training Initiative by UNEP, ACP MEAs, and EU, we created a Toolkit on Pro-Environmental Youth Engagement for UNEP and it has been published. Especially as a Young European Ambassador, I had a chance to meet and got invited to private events of Belgium’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Michel Peetermans, Deputy Head of Mission, Tinneke Everaert, Head of European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, Heads of Different Departments of European Commission and European Investment Bank. Recently, we hosted an EU-funded event on “EU and Eastern Partnership Countries at COP28 ” with my colleagues from the Young European Ambassadors Climate Action Working Group.

Moreover, I have successfully finished my EU relations internship at The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mission to the European Union which gave me the opportunity to engage in high-level diplomatic meetings with the EU diplomats, developing my skills in research, diplomacy, and leadership. This internship helped me broaden my knowledge of EU institutions and so many hard skills. At the same time, I am a member of YOUNGO and MGCY.
